Bengali Movies to watch out for in 2014.

With the start of the New Year 2014 let’s take a look at the Bengali movies which will catch our attention throughout the year.

It’s a story of reincarnation where Koyel will be seen in a double role; one warrior queen of 19th century and a modern day girl. Koyel will be seen doing horse riding to sword fighting for the first time.
Buno Haansh	Aniruddha Roychowdhury	Dev, Shrabanti, Tanushree, Moon Moon Sen	It’s based on a story written by Samaresh Majumdar, which is about a boy Amol who gets involved into the world of crime. We are looking forward to see Dev once again doing some good acting in a meaningful cinema after the successful "Chander Pahar". Shrabanti had caught our attention in her non glamorous role in "Goynar Baksho" and we are very much hopeful that she will be able to carry forward that magic here too.
Jaatishwar	Srijit Mukherjee	Prasenjit Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Jishu Sengupta,Riya Sen, Rahul, Abir Chatterjee, Ananya Chatterjee	It’s a fictional Story based on the reincarnation theme interestingly taking reference from the story of Antony Firingee. The combo of director Srijit Mukherjee and actor Prasenjit Chatterjee has a 100% success rate at box office. We are very much hopeful to see brilliant acting from Prasenjit Chatterjee especially in his double roles. The rest of the cast also consist of some talented actors.
The Royal Bengal Tiger	Rajesh Ganguli	Jeet, Abir Chatterjee	Two successful actors from totally different world of cinema are coming together for the first time. Famous bollywood director Neeraj Pandey is associated with this movie as a producer.
Chhaya Manush	Arindam Mamdo Dey	Parambrata Chatterjee, Raima Sen, Paoli Dam, Kaushik Ganguli	The cast includes four extremely talented actors.
Sesh Bole Kichhu Nei	Anjan Dutta	Jishu Sengupta,Subhashree Ganguly	After doing an unsuccessful attempt to make a commercial film Anjan Dutta is back to his own style of movies. The cast of the movie looks interesting.
Game	Baba Yadav	Jeet, Subhashree	This combination may not be a favourite with the critics but it has a mass appeal to the audiences and it has been proved earlier too in “Boss”.
Boss 2	Baba Yadav	Jeet, Subhashree	Just like “Boss”, its sequel is also looking a strong contender for the box office.
Joddha	Raj Chakrabarty	Dev, Mimi Chakraborty	Raj Chakrabarty is back with another remake of a south Indian blockbuster and everyone knows how beautifully he adapts the story in a bong setting. The story is based on the reincarnation theme, its one part is a periodic drama in ancient India and the other part is set on modern day India. Looking forward to see Dev doing the deadly action sequences which includes sword fighting and martial arts.
Kolkata Calling	Mainak Bhaumick	Moon Moon Sen,Riya Sen, Raima Sen, Ritwick Chakraborty	The main interesting part about this movie is that for the first time ever Moon Moon Sen and her two daughters, Raima and Riya are coming together in a movie.
Apur Panchali	Kaushik Ganguly	Parambrata Chatterjee, Parno Mitra, Ritwick Chakraborty	Director Kaushik Ganguli is coming with another different type of story which revolves around the life of Subir Chatterjee the actor who had played young Apu in Satyajeet Ray’s “Paather Panchaali”. This film has already been well received at different film festivals. Waiting to see some brilliant acting from the leading pair Parambrata and Parno.
Badshahi Angti	Sandip Ray	Abir Chatterjee	Sandip Ray is making another movie based on a Feluda Story. For the first time ever Abir Chatterjee will play Feluda on screen, it will be a challenge for him to fulfil the expectation set up by Soumitra Chatterjee and Sabyasachi Chakraborty.
Opentee Bioscope	Anindya Chattopadhyay	Riddhi Sen,Surangana,Rajatava Dutta	The man behind Chandrabindoo, Anindya Chattopadhyay is wearing the director’s hat for the first time. The story revolves around the persons who are always behind the camera. The premise sounds interesting.
Obhishopto Nighty	Birsa Dasgupta	Paoli Dam, Indraneil Sengupta, Jishhu Sengupta, Tanushree, Rahul, Mir	The ensemble cast. In recent past we have seen lots of good comedies which deal about supernatural and it can be another interesting comedy in that series.
Highway	Sudipto Chattopadhyay	Parambrata Chatterjee, Koyel Mallick	The pairing of Parambrata and Koyel will be back on silver screen after the successful “Hemlock Society”
Porichoy	Rupali Guha	Prasenjeet Chatterjee	Prasenjeet Chatterjee is of course the main highlight of the film.
Room No 103	Aniket Chattopadhyay	Soumitra Chatterjee, Jishu Sengupta, Priyanka Sarkar, Kanchan, Rajesh Sharma	Looking forward to see another multi starrer comedy from the director Aniket Chattopadhyay.
Shunyo	Rudranil Ghosh	Anjan Dutta, Kaushik Ganguli, Tanushree	Extremely talented actor Rudranil Ghosh is wearing the director’s hat for first time for this movie. We are hopeful that he will choose a good subject and treat it well.
Chatushkone	Srijit Mukherjee	Aparna Sen, Goutam Ghosh, Parambrata Chatterjee, Chiranjeet	The director Srijit Mukherjee has a 100% success rate so far. The plot of the movie is very interesting which is about four directors who are from different world of cinema and wants to make their own movies separately but at a point their stories criss-cross with each other. Looking forward to see two veteran directors Aparna Sen and Gautam Ghosh acting under the directions of Srijit Mukherjee.
Kadambari	Suman Ghosh	Konkona Sensharma, Parambrata Chatterjee, kaushik Sen	The story revolves around the life of Kadambari Devi, sister in law of Rabindranath Tagore. Also it gives a view of the inner world of Jorasanko Thakur bari. The cast includes some very good actors leading with Konkona Sensharama, Parambrata Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen.
Bari Tar Bangla	Rangan Chakravarty	Shaswata Chatterjee, Raima Sen	When Shaswata Chatterjee is in the lead role then of course the movie will be highly awaited. The story of the movie is a satire on the present condition of Bengal.
Shesher Kobita	Suman Mukherjee	Rahul Bose, Konkona Sensharma, Swastika Mukherjee	The movie is based on the famous novel written by Rabindranath Tagore. Looking forward to see the chemistry between Rahul Bose and Konkona Senshrma once again as Amit Ray and Labanya. Also Swastika is looking promising as Ketaki.
Jodi Love Dile Na Prane	Abhijit Guha, Sudeshna Roy	Abir Chatterjee, Ananya Chatterjee, Arjun Chakraborty, Kaushik Sen	The director duo Abhijit and Sudeshna always tell a love story with a different approach. The fresh pairing of Abir Chatterjee and Ananya Chatterjee, both are fine actors and we are looking forward to see them as romantic couple on screen.
Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2	Soumik Chattopadhyay	Arjun Chakraborty, Urmila Mahanta	It is the sequel to the blockbuster hit “Chirodini Tumi Je Amar”
Hercules	Abhijit Guha, Sudeshna Roy	Parambrata Chatterjee, Paoli Dam, Shaswata Chatterjee	The director duo Abhijit and Sudeshna had shown lots of potential in their earlier movies. Also looking forward to see the chemistry between Parambrata and Paoli. Not to forget Shaswata in an interesting role.
Ramdhanu	Shiboprasad Mukherjee, Nandita Roy	Shiboprasad Mukherjee, Gargi Roychowdhury	The director duo has delivered successful films every time. This time also they are coming with a unique story based on the novel of Suchitra Bhattacharya. After doing some supporting roles in their own movies Shiboprasad is playing the main lead this time. Hope to see fine acting from him.
Cross Connection 2	Abhijit Guha, Sudeshna Roy	Shayan Munshi , Tanushree	Its prequel was a good film and a surprise hit.
Parapar – The Crossing	Sanjoy Nag	Rituparna Sengupta , Paoli Dam	Its Sanjoy Nag’s next film as director after the brilliant “Memories In March”. The two talented actresses Rituparna and Paoli Dam are sharing screen space together for the first time.
